AT&T Andrew Edison was appointed as the head of AT&T’s business in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) in August 2010. Edison brings to the role extensive experience from a variety of sales, operational and management positions for the company both in Europe and in the United States. He has held senior sales positions in Europe based both in London and Paris and was most recently Vice President Global Operations Planning for AT&T Business Solutions (ABS). Based in the US, he was accountable for leading the strategy and execution of key initiatives to drive the expansion of AT&T’s Global Business outside of the US. Key focus areas included India, Latin America, Middle East and Asia Pacific. Edison has now relocated to London. Previously Edison held a senior sales role in Europe as a Sales Center Vice President responsible for key growth Markets included the Nordic region, Central and Eastern Europe and the Mediterranean basin. Edison was also responsible for developing AT&T’s Global “inside” Telesales based distribution strategy, initially in Europe, and then with centers in Asia, Latin America and Canada. Prior to this Edison was responsible for EMEA Business Operations and planning reporting directly to the President of EMEA operations.
Before joining AT&T, Edison held sales leadership positions at Concert (an AT&T and BT Joint Venture), and before that at BT. EMEA is one of the most important regions for AT&T’s enterprise customers outside the United States. In Europe AT&T serves more than 50% of companies on the UK FTSE 100 exchange, 80% of firms on the German DAX exchange and around 90% of Firms on the Paris CAC 40 and last year (2009) the business experienced double digit growth. In the region, AT&T operates in all major areas, with a workforce of approximately 5000 in 31 countries and the company has significant resources located in the UK, Germany, France, Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Slovakia, Italy and the Nordics, amongst others. Edison holds a post graduate diploma from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK) and is a Fellow Institute of Professional Sales. He also completed the executive finance and accounting program at Wharton Business School at the University of Pennsylvania. Edison, a UK national, is located in London. He is married with three children and lives in the Home Counties close to London.
