Chris Boyer

In his role as Assistant Vice President—Public Policy at AT&T Services, Inc., Chris Boyer wears two hats. He is responsible for developing AT&T’s policy positions related to emerging services and technologies and for acting as AT&T’s public policy liaison to Silicon Valley trying to keep up with the cutting edge technologists scanning the horizon for issues that will affect AT&T down the road. In particular in areas such as IPTV as a slew of new devices and gadgets are introduced in the marketplace and in the areas of cyber security and cloud computing.
His self-described role is to bridge the gap, he says, between “the intersection of technology and policy.” Boyer also support’s legislative and external affairs team in California in many cases acting as the face of AT&T at policy events in a particularly challenging environment.
A huge technology fan, Boyer owns a slew of tech gadgets including all things that start with an “i” as well as Android devices. A father of three, Boyer is a huge baseball and college basketball fan. He has helped coach his oldest son’s baseball team, cheers for the St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas Jayhawks and runs when he gets the chance. In fact, as part of a contingent of AT&Ters, Boyer helped AT&T capture the gold in the President’s Relay event at the 33rd USCAA Annual Corporate Cup Relays. While it didn’t help AT&T beat out GE as the overall winner, AT&T’s second place tie with Lockheed Martin was its best finish in years. Go Team!
