Despite the promise for unified communications (UC) to enhance efficiency and empower workers, it remains challenging to implement and gain user acceptance. Enterprises can realize value from their UC programs by following some basic best practices, described in this article.
For UC to be effective, the entire network must be prepared to manage the applications. The more complex the network, the more difficult it is to roll out UC. This article describes several fundamental guidelines for implementing a successful UC program. Among them: allowing for sufficient upfront planning, finding the right champion and establishing cross-functional teams to manage program implementation – advice that was culled from actual enterprise experiences.
