Network pros are highly concerned about protecting the network. In March 2012, AT&T commissioned Forrester Consulting to explore the key concerns of WAN decision-makers in multinational enterprises, among other key MPLS security topics. Forrester found that endpoint device security is among the top three concerns of more than half of these decision-makers (see Figure 1). Other items under heavy scrutiny are network control and management devices and network-attached storage. Cloud is also top of mind for many; 28% rate this as their No. 1 network security concern.

In a commissioned study, conducted by Forrester Consulting on behalf of AT&T found that endpoint device security is among the top three concerns of more than half of decision-makers. Forrester recommends running IPsec encryption over MPLS transport networks for network applications requiring strong security.
