Disney Parks and Resorts embraces safe driving with the help of AT&T

  • AT&T has been the official wireless provider for Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort since 2013.

  • AT&T and Disney have collaborated to promote safe driving among cast members and guests.

  • AT&T has developed a texting-while-driving simulator and a virtual reality experience to promote safe driving.

AT&T has been the official wireless provider for Walt Disney World® Resort and Disneyland® Resort since 2013. Not only does AT&T help Disney cast members connect with each other, but there’s another aspect of two great companies working together — safety. Safety is core to the Disney culture and at the heart of everything we do.

Disney is committed to providing a safe work environment for all of our cast members and guests, and we want to ensure they are practicing safe habits, whether at our parks, on the road, or at home. So it was natural for us to team up with AT&T to help bring home the message of safe driving to all who work at the parks and to those who visit every day.

In 2014, our two companies came together to educate Disney cast members and guests about It Can Wait®, AT&T’s groundbreaking initiative to inform consumers about safe driving in the following ways:

  • A texting-while-driving simulator was brought to Walt Disney World Resort for cast members to experience.
  • Two billboards with the “Drive Now. Text Later. It Can Wait” message were installed at the exits of Walt Disney World Resort.
  • It Can Wait trading pins were created by AT&T and shared with cast members at Walt Disney World Resort.

And the evolution continues. Later this year, AT&T will bring a virtual reality experience to Walt Disney World Resort for cast members, so they can learn the dangers of distracted driving in a 3-D setting.

AT&T and Disney will remain committed to finding creative ways to remind guests and cast members who might be thinking about sending a text while driving: It Can Wait.
